Marketing was “invented” to let people know that you’ve got something that they want and give you something that you want in exchange, in order to get it.

Lets replace the "you’ve got something" with "your product or service" and the "in exchange" with "giving you money".

You'll end up with customers giving you money, for your product or service.

Because your focus MUST BE on the "they want" and "in order to get it".

That "something" you have, is not what they want. That "something" is just your product or service. Since you built it, you know it is something they need, in order to get a result.

So, we can safely say that customers will give you money, in order to get a result, not for the sake of having your product or service.

Let customers know that you can give them that result they want. A.K.A. "benefit".

So, focus your marketing strategy on the benefits that people who use your product or service will achieve.

Et voila, you just built your marketing strategy.
