Steve Jobs (Computer Designer), marketing, Business, Steve Jobs (Organization Leader), branding

Steve Jobs shares his amazingly different approach to marketing and how he used it to build Apple into one of the largest companies in the world.

To me….marketing is about values. This is a very complicated world. It’s a very noisy world. And we’re not going to get a chance to get people to remember much about us. No company is! And so, we have to be really clear on what we want them to know about us.

Now Apple, fortunately, is one of half-a-dozen best brands in the whole world. Right up there with Nike, Disney, Coke, Sony — it is one of the greats of the greats. Not just in this country, but all around the globe.

But even a great brand needs investment and caring if it’s going to retain its relevance and vitality. And the Apple brand has clearly suffered from neglect in this area in the last few years. And we need to bring it back!

The way to do that is NOT to talk about speeds and fees. It’s NOT to talk about bits and mega-hertz. It’s NOT to talk about why we are better than Windows.

The dairy industry tried for 20 years to convince you that milk was good for you. It’s a lie, but they tried anyway. And...

2018 is going to be an exciting year.

The analysis on how much money we're spending to generate the traffic and here's what's crazy, most people don't realize this, we generate, let's say a million visitors a month on Neil Patel.

Do you know what the cost to get there is with video, production, podcasting, blogging, promotion, ads, link building?

$110,000 a month.

That's what it averaged out to for 2017.

Here are my marketing strategies for 2018.

I just bought a blog in the marketing space for a half a million bucks.

They get a million visitors a month, and it's cheaper to spend money acquiring people who already have the traffic.

So in 2017, I bought Uber Suggest, I think it was around 140 grand.

They had very little traffic.

I 381 redirected the site, traffic increased and guess what happened?

I hoped that my traffic would go through the roof, but nothing happened.

learning, l&D, talent development, atd

For learning professionals, “marketing” is often a dirty word. It shouldn’t be. In fact, by using marketing best practices, including treating your learners and stakeholders as the over-saturated consumers they are, you can increase overall engagement and resulting performance outcomes.

We’re not talking “selling” or “advertising” here, we’re talking story-telling, positioning and developing training that cuts through the clutter and sticks, as well as overcoming our #1 challenge: helping managers better appreciate the value of investing their people’s time in learning.

During this webinar, Chris Balmes, Caveo Learning’s creative director, and Stuart Baum, Caveo’s vice president of marketing provide ideas to…

- Proactively engage learners by using the persona strategy
- Use branding and positioning techniques to better communicate the value of L&D
- Develop training program concepts and “story arcs”
- Build your learning brand

Your learners are consumers in a business environment. By using marketing strategies and techniques you’ll realize improved collaboration, registrations & viewership, and results.

marketing strategist, internet marketing strategist, marketing startegy, internet marketing strategy, digital strategist, digital strategy

In this Make Your Mark Monday Episode, John Broadbent talks about how every marketer should be a strategist.

John Broadbent coached 5 years of college club hockey during the early years of his career in internet marketing. During that time he implemented a coaching process that works well for internet marketers. The process:
- Observation
- Preparation
- Action

The very best marketing strategists apply this process with a duel-facet approach. They are both analytic and creative. Leaving out either facet from your marketing campaign limits the strategic impact.

During the observation stage, marketing strategists must analyze and empathize. Great strategists look closely at data and identify with their target market. These marketers understand the people they are targeting through data and intuition.

In preparation, the best marketing strategist will synthesize an efficient process while visualizing the end result with imagination and clarity. They tap into both natures to create game-changing plans for success.

While in action, the most effective marketing strategist will create an efficient system that leaves room for resourceful improvising. These marketers understand the value of flexible processes.
