There seems to be some confusion as to the amount of gold contained in the American Gold Eagle line of coins. I have seen comments stating that they are a poor choice of gold investment because they do not contain a pure ounce of gold. This is NOT TRUE. Each gold eagle contains EXACTLY the amount of gold stated on the coin and the gold is 100% pure. Now, this gold is then diluted as silver and copper are added to the coins to harden the coin for added strength, durability and resistance to wear.
Each of the four sizes contains 91.67% gold (22 karat), 3% silver, and 5.33% copper.

Hi I'm Lizzie, welcome to Chard TV.
Most countries issue a bullion coin which is to be sold at a low premium over the intrinsic metal value. The American version is the Eagle.
Following the success of the Krugerrand, in 1986, America introduced the bullion Eagle coins in gold and silver.
The platinum coins were introduced a year later in 1987. As with all bullion coins the idea was to provide an easy way to purchase in the convenient form of coins.
The modern bullion gold Eagle was based on the historic twenty US dollar Double Eagle which was issued as currency in America between 1849 and 1933.

Because these American Eagles are a perfect addition for any investor or numismatic collector, they are the most popular Gold coin from the U.S. Mint. Visit http://www.apmex.com/category/11010/gold-american-eagles to view and buy Gold American Eagle Coins.
Since its introduction in 1986, the Gold American Eagle coin has been in high demand every year. As Gold bullion, they always hold value making them easy to sell, buy and trade.
The obverse of the Gold Eagle is adapted from Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ famed Gold Double Eagle design of 1907, often regarded as the most beautiful design in American coinage. The design features Lady Liberty walking confidently against the sun’s rays, carrying a torch and an olive branch. The reverse of the coin is equally beautiful, showing a male bald eagle in flight carrying an olive branch to his nest, where a female awaits with her young. This design highlights the strength and importance of American families.

1/10 Oz American Gold Eagle Coins: https://www.moneymetals.com/tenth-ounce-american-gold-eagle-coin/8?utm_source=silo&utm_medium=youtube&utm_campaign=gold-coins-for-sale
Money Metals Exchange is pleased to make available the highly popular gold American Eagle, produced by the U.S. Mint since 1986. The coin value is based on its gold content, but it also carries a legal tender value of $5 U.S. dollars. American Eagle's weight, content, and purity is guaranteed by the United States Government. While the tenth-ounce gold American Eagle contains the full 1/10 troy ounce of gold indicated, by weight it is 91.67% gold (22 karat), 3% silver, and 5.33% copper. The 1/10 ounce is the smallest size out of all the fractional gold eagles in existence (https://youtu.be/ZyksYq9NGcs). American Eagle gold coins sell more than any other production from the U.S. Mint.
