The launch of Paz had previously been scheduled to take place last Sunday. However, SpaceX announced a delay on Saturday to the next available date: Wednesday. In announcing this delay, SpaceX confirmed that the rocket would fly with an upgraded payload

SpaceX launched its most impressive rocket yet on Feb. 6, the Falcon Heavy. The launch was a brilliant success. It sent Elon Musk's Tesla roadster into space! But not everything went according to plan.

SpaceX wanted to land 3 rockets that day. But only 2 made it back to Earth in one piece. The Falcon Heavy is a beast, fueled by 3 main parts. Two booster rockets on the side and one core stage in the center.

Each part runs on 9 engines. That's 27 total engines it takes to lift this rocket to space. The two side boosters landed at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station. The center core was supposed to land on a drone ship in the ocean. But it missed the mark by 328 feet and crashed into the Atlantic instead.

Now we know why.

Rockets save a little fuel in their tanks for landing. It fuels the engines that fire to slow down the rocket. But two-thirds of the central core's engines didn't fire on landing. Six days after the crash, Musk tweeted the reason: "Not enough ignition fluid to light the outer two engines after several three engines relights. Fix is pretty obvious."

Crashes like this aren't new for SpaceX. In fact, it released a video of all its fails back in 2017. SpaceX is famous for learning from its failures to...

Just 6 years ago Grass Hopper made its leap, 57 Years ago Armstrong landed on Moon. If you ask some one from 1960's , how 2000's would look like, he/she would go on to say that we would be having a base on moon and mars probably. We would have flying cars, but some where down the line, Man Kind just gave up on Space, not to mention completely stopped innovating in automobiles too, we are still using the same gasoline cars, which until recently been taken by storm with the entry of Tesla.

Watch as we relive how the space race started, How the Dinosaurs and the Skeptics opposed SpaceX vehemently, How they were proven wrong by Elon Musk.

Following its first test launch, Falcon Heavy is now the most powerful operational rocket in the world by a factor of two. With the ability to lift into orbit nearly 64 metric tons (141,000 lb)---a mass greater than a 737 jetliner loaded with passengers, crew, luggage and fuel--Falcon Heavy can lift more than twice the payload of the next closest operational vehicle, the Delta IV Heavy, at one-third the cost. Falcon Heavy draws upon the proven heritage and reliability of Falcon 9.

Its first stage is composed of three Falcon 9 nine-engine cores whose 27 Merlin engines together generate more than 5 million pounds of thrust at liftoff, equal to approximately eighteen 747 aircraft. Only the Saturn V moon rocket, last flown in 1973, delivered more payload to orbit. Falcon Heavy was designed from the outset to carry humans into space and restores the possibility of flying missions with crew to the Moon or Mars.

Elon Musk and the Spacex crew failed to catch the nosecone as planned during the PAZ mission launch today Feb 22, 2018 from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California. According to SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, the boat missed catching the fairing by "a few hundred meters," but he thinks there's a simple fix: Bigger parachutes to better control the parachuting fairing. The fairing, which sheltered and released the payload during the rocket launch, parachuted down to the Pacific Ocean. A GPS guidance system helped guide the parachute close to the long, outstretched metallic arms of the awaiting ship.

Assuming the nosecone is in good shape, SpaceX may still try and retrieve it from the water. Recovery of the rocket fairing is aimed at bringing down the cost of access to space, since this particular part of the rocket costs between $5 and $6 million dollars.

SpaceX famously lands its rocket boosters back on Earth and reuses them in subsequent launches, but it never before attempted to catch a rocket's fairing. SpaceX plans to outcompete its rocket rivals by reusing most of its rockets, as opposing to building new components for each launch.

Elon Musk outlines future for SpaceX

Just before quite successful launch of Falcon Heavy, Elon outlined some of the future plans for SpaceX and what we can expect in coming years.

Although, everything was betting on Falcon Heavy being a success, and success it was, considering all the initial technical issues with the rocket.

However, before SpaceX launched Falcon Heavy, Elon Musk have impromptu press conference outlining few plans for the future of SpaceX and manned flight.

The disappointing bit is, there’ll be no Falcon Heavy manned missions.

Problem with heavy vibration during the tests and subsequent loss of central core, perhaps illustrated the reason why, but risk of human casualties due to rocket failure at the launch aren’t worth the risk.

Falcon Heavy was touted as potential system SpaceX could use for manned missions to Moon and even Mars. Hope was, SpaceX could use Falcon Heavy to launch two tourists around the Moon.
Falcon 9 rocket, mainstay of SpaceX isn’t capable of sending Dragon II spacecraft/lander beyond Low Earth Orbit, due to the shear mass of Dragon II @10 tons fully laden.

Falcon Heavy was considered best bet for manned flight, as it has capacity to send Dragon II...
