Another week of scorching temps and some of the superhots are not liking it! As the end shows it is just a temporary setback each day and they are becoming acclimated to the temp swings.

Another fantastic pepper from Brian at www.ghostpepperstore.com
This time a gigantic yellow 7-pot brain strain. Huge pepper seemingly full of capsaicin oil, but with a delicious aroma.
This one was exceptionally hot and, eventually, exceptionally delicious. This is my new favorite Superhot pepper and it turned out to have a great combination of insane heat and outstanding flavour. These have to be on your grow list for next season, or better still, call Brian at www.ghostpepperstore and order some. You will not be disappointed. Awesome pepper, rule awesome.
How hot was it? Ridiculously hot. Very very few peppers are hotter than this one was. It was all localized to the surface of the tongue, too.
Did it make me ill? Not this time, no. I ate this and then went and ate dinner, so there were no ill effects on my stomach at all.
On my scale, I`d rate this at an 8/10 for heat and/or pain. Insanely hot and very localized heat, too.

The Yellow 7 Pot Brain Strain is an incredibly flavorful superhot variety - extremely fruity and sweet, with a slightly citrusy overtone. The heat sits slightly above the Yellow 7 and the Yellow Moruga but it's a smooth, non-violent burn. Pods are large, so there's a lot to chew but with a flavor this great that's not a negative.
Thanks to Tony Sherwood for sending me this pod!

Today I try the yellow Brainstrain, sent to me by Chris Whitehouse, thanks dude!
Good sized pod, looks similar to the yellow 7 pot.
Smell had the typical yellow chinense fruity aroma to it, medium / thick walls and plenty of seeds inside.
The taste was quite pleasant as with most of the yellow chinenses, with a slight unusual edge to it that I couldn't quite place.
The heat was pretty powerful, lighting up the mouth while chewing and whacking into the back of the throat when I swallowed. Plenty of hiccups followed, the heat then moved forward and concentrated in the front of the mouth rising to a high level.
Plenty of drool, sweating and hiccups throughout, the heat took a long time to die down with this one!
Thanks very much to Chris for sending the pod for me to test, cheers mate :)
Thanks for watching and catcha again soon!!

In this video I make some stupidly hot Fermented hot-sauce using some beautiful Yellow 7Pot Brainstrain peppers. The heat of this rivals my bottle of Daves Insanity Sauce!
Fermenting food is great fun. Just be sure to be safe! Make sure everything is clean and sanitised. Run your jars through the dishwasher. If you see any strange moulds or there is a strange smell, then don't eat it! Otherwise, as long as you see some fermentation activity after a few days (bubbles rising from the peppers) then you should be safe.

This pepper was grown by Bakers Pepper. www.bakerspeppers.com This pepper is massive and very hot I would say it's just as hot as the red variety. The flavor was a little more floral than other yellow superhots I've had but overall not bad flavor, sweet, citrusy, and very floral. Thanks for watcing!!!!

Here I try one of the hottest chili peppers out there, The 7-pot Brain Strain. I`ve heard people claim this to run upwards of 1.4 million scoville units, even as much as 2 million scoville units, but I`ve not seen any scientific testing to back this up so far. Suffice to say there are very, very few chilis that are hotter.
This chili is a medium-sized Brain Strain, but they do get quite a bit larger. Thankfully, this wasn`t a large one!
This pepper gave me quite a ride and, while I do have a few more, I`m a bit worried about what eating another one will do to me. Hmmm, maybe the day after tomorrow.......
How hot was it? The hottest thing I`ve ever eaten. Really frighteningly hot.
What was the taste like? Really excellent flavour. Quite fruity and floral, but with some undertones of savoury and very slightly salty. Because the heat comes on very slowly, you get to taste the pepper for quite a while. The flavour is very different to a Habanero, but similar to other 7-pot varieties I`ve eaten.
Did it make me ill? I had such an extreme endorphin response that I thought I was going to pass out, but didn`t. It did not make me vomit at all, but about 1 hour after eating it I had stomach cramps that lasted almost 2 hours, coming...

Name: 7 Pot Brain Strain
Type: Capsicum Chinense
Scoville (approx): ???????
Wall Thickness: Medium
Taste: Nice citrus flavor, slightly sweet
Seeds: Minimal to Moderate
Flavor: This one had a nice subtle citrus flavor and was slightly sweet. The walls are a little thicker than a habanero's which was nice.
Heat: I really liked the way the heat hit me. The heat came on quick and hit my tongue at first. It did not hit me in the back of the throat with that hot coal feeling, but there was a little heat there. The heat mainly hit me in the front of the mouth on my lips and tongue. This is a must have if you really enjoy the yellow type pods.

So first off, I was really excited to get to pull a pepper from my garden and eat it. Hopefully, it is an indication of what is to come!
On taste. I really enjoyed the flavor of this one. My favorites are always the yellows, and this one was no different. I would say it was very citrusy, but a bit more subdued than the TS Yellow. Overall a great tasting pod that I can imagine a number of uses.
On Heat. It was pretty damn hot, but not unbearable. It was definitely on the top tier of the yellows, but still not as hot as any red or brown pod I have eaten. Interestingly, it didn't have the typical 7 Pot "Coal" burn. It was more focused on the affected areas, e.g. the side of my tongue and along my cheek. The heat built for about 3 minutes, plateaued, and then peaked and dropped at about 5 and change. It is 20 minutes later now and I have no heat in my mouth. But I do have the taste :)
On Stomach Pain. So far so good. Right now there is no stomach discomfort. I ate a decent meal, and then had a few tsps of Peanut Butter (thanks Pepper Community) because I had no maylox or mylanta on hand I figured I would start with PB and if it didn't work I would try something else. As an aside, I have never had stomach discomfort from a yellow...

This is a Yellow version of the red BrainStrain that has been developed (and still is) over the past few years. So This Yellow Brainstrain smells and tastes like a mixture of pineapple and 7pod together which would make a great homemade hot sauce or additive for a Caribbean dish. When one cuts the pod one can actually see the placenta full of capsicum oil. One of the hottest if not the hottest yellow variety there is it defiantly worth trying if you like the extremely hot 7pod flavour, with topical & fruity hits too, fair play to Chris, this is one awesome pepper, fruity, juicy and stupidly hot!!
Thanks for watching and hope you all enjoyed!

Yellow Brain x Yellow Scorpion, this was a really good one! Low heat but definitely still a superhot as you will see haha
I enjoyed this one a lot as recently I have only been reviewing red pods and my favorites are the yellow, white and peach pods. Toby Tyler from Heavenly Harvest Farms grew this monster! It was absolutely giant! His company grows strictly aquaponically and I can say that this pod was no short of amazing! If you have any questions he and his wife have a website and Facebook! The website is http://www.heavenlyharvestfarms.com.
This pod had an impressive amount of seeds, more than I have seen in a superhot I believe. I am happy to have been pretty calm on this review and not had such an aggressive hiccup attack haha
