Many people have a birthday on November 29th, but Emma Morano from Vercelli, Italy, is the only person celebrating her 117th birthday today.

She’s the world’s oldest living person, but not only that – she’s the last person alive who was born in the 1800s!

When Emma was born, in 1899, Britain was still at war with the Boers in South Africa. World War One was still fifteen years away and she was already 28-years-old by the time the television was invented.

She holds the Guinness world record as the only person alive born in the 19th century, but what’s the secret to her long life?

In an Interview to AFP News Agency, she has revealed her secret that she eats Two Eggs and cookies. She also said that she doesn’t eat much as she has no teeth.

Born on 29th November 1899, Emma is so immune to diseases. She also takes applesauce, bananas, grapes and raw meat.

However, doctors say that her two sisters too lived above 100 years. So besides the diet, her genes might be a reason for her long live.

Anyhow, Let us wish this Oldest Lady A Very Happy Birthday and wish her a long live.

One year after a casket was found in a San Francisco backyard containing the perfectly preserved body of a little girl from the 1800s, researchers discovered her true identity. The Garden of Innocence, an organization that buries abandoned and unidentified children, says her name is Edith Howard Cook. Records show she died in October 1876 from undernourishment just shy of her third birthday. InsideEdition.com's Mara Montalbano (https://twitter.com/MaraMontalbano) has more.

I recently had an opportunity to go back in time. Specifically, to the early 1800s and the Nebraska frontier. Every year, the Washington County Historical Association hosts a 2-day event called Heritage Days at Fort Atkinson State Historical Park. The event celebrates the history of the early settlement days of Nebraska through hands-on learning demonstrations, traditional foods, and historical re-enactment, aka “living history.”

Fort Atkinson was the first United States military post west of the Missouri River. The U.S. chose the location for the fort...

In building my log cabin I used these preserved pioneer log cabins as my inspiration.

Things that I noticed about these pioneer cabins were:
- The logs weren't treated with any special stains or sealers, like they are today, yet look at how long they've lasted!
- They don't have saddle-notches, which seem to be popular today. Instead, the pioneers used a simple square-notch, and it has obviously worked just fine.
- I was surprised at how thick the chinking was between logs. I'm guessing it was made so this thick because the pioneers didn't want to bother with lugging more logs around than they had to.
- The roofs weren't insulated.
- The foundations were made from boulders with chinking between them. It is obvious that these cabins were built with whatever the pioneers could find within the immediate vicinity.

This is our return trip to a ghost town full of stuff. We call this ghost town "The Hills Have Eyes" ghost town because it reminds us of "The Hills Have Eyes".

It appears the people left this area many years ago and never returned. They left all their stuff behind and hit the road. There are many buildings full of stuff, and a few locked buildings we did not enter. We did enter all of the opened buildings though, which provided plenty of great stuff to show you. We also discovered new buildings on this return trip full of stuff.

This place dates back to the early 1900's with a very rich history. Fortunately, it's tucked deep into a valley and vandals have not yet discovered this amazing place. I will NOT share the location in order to protect the property from vandals and thieves.

The places we visit are usually very remote with little to no chance of help if something were to happen. It's been said that one can stumble upon drug labs out at these remote locations, which is a possibility we always keep in mind.

The Oliver Kelley Farm, located on the bluffs of the Mississippi River near Elk River, is an interpretive historical site that features an operational mid-1800 farmstead. One feature of the farm is a historic garden where pioneer women and children raised vegetables for the family. Host Larry Zilliox visits with Andrea Krist, a site interpreter from the Minnesota Historical Society, who educates guests on the raising and preserving of vegetables in the 1850s.
